Avis Launches iPhone Application

Avis Rent A Car today announced the launch of a mobile iPhone application, a free interactive tool that allows travelers to book Avis car rental reservations via an Apple iPhone. The new application, available online through the Apple iPhone “App Store,” features multi-touch booking so customers can easily point and click on a vehicle for rent at airport locations throughout the United States and Canada.
“We are always looking for ways to save our customers time and enhance the rental experience — and that starts with the reservation process,” said John Peebles, vice president of online marketing for Avis Budget Group, parent company of Avis. “The Avis iPhone application is another fast and easy way to book Avis when you are on the go — at the touch of a button.”

The iPhone application builds upon Avis’s commitment to offer renters time-saving amenities, an example of the Avis “We try harder” approach to service. In 2007, the Company unveiled the industry’s first online booking tool for Internet-enabled portable devices through an optimized version of Avis.com designed for telephones, Blackberries and portable digital assistants. Avis has also led the industry with innovations such as the introduction of the first portable navigation device and electronic toll collection solutions.
