L1 Technologies Inc., a pioneer in the golf GPS industry, has announced the release of iGolf Mobile for the iPhone. The application instantly turns any iPhone 3G or 3GS into a high powered GPS rangefinder, and features more advanced technology than most handheld golf GPS devices which carry retail prices of up to $500.

After downloading the free application golfers can register for a free iGolf Mobile membership to access detailed listings for more than 32,500 courses worldwide, the latest golf news, exclusive opinion articles, independent reviews, handicap tracking and more directly from their iPhone. The free download also features a 24 hour GPS trial.

Free members who want to use GPS after their 24 hour trial can upgrade their accounts and register for an iGolf Mobile membership on a monthly ($5.00) or annual basis ($50.00). Paid mobile memberships include access to the iGolf GPS Caddie and allow members to access over 20,000 professionally mapped golf courses.

iGolf Mobile features proprietary aerial hole overview maps that provide distance to any point on the hole for detailed shot planning. Golfers preferring a simplified approach can view distances to the front, center and back of greens as well as pre-mapped hazards and custom points.

“iGolf Mobile makes the latest golf GPS technology easily accessible to any golfer with an iPhone 3G or 3GS,”said Gary Symington, General Manger for the iGolf Division of L1 Technologies Inc. “Instant access to key distances on the course can help golfers to significantly improve their scores and increase their pace of play.”

iGolf Mobile is available as a free download from the iPhone App Store. For more information on iGolf Mobile please visit iGolf.com.
