According to web reports Steve Jobs has emailed Apple staff saying that he is taking a medical leave of absence, to focus on his health. Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook will in charge of Apple’s day to day operations.
“At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health,” Mr Jobs said.
Jobs said he would remain CEO and still involved in major decisions for the company.
In late 2008 to mid-2009 Jobs was absent from Apple for six months for a liver transplant, said to be due to recurring medical problems since 2004, when he was treated for pancreatic cancer.
