Apple has enabled beta testing of Find My Mac for registered OS X developers with early access to Apple’s iCloud service, allowing users to locate, lock and and wipe a lost Mac computer.
Once enabled you can use any web browser or iOS device to track your Apple hardware. Once a Mac is remotely locked by a user, a four-digit PIN code is needed to regain access.
The Apple Find My Mac feature will be free. and will require OS X Lion and a free iCloud membership. iCloud is expected to be released this fall.
