GSMA is a global trade association representing over 700 GSM mobile phone operators across 218 countries, and created the Asia Mobile Awards 2009 as a platform to showcase leadership and diversity of mobile content, products and services throughout Asia. The Asia Mobile Awards saw more than 50 nominees vying for just eleven coveted awards in five categories, judged by independent journalists, analysts and academics. The categories ranged from Best Mobile Entertainment Services for mobile games, music, TV/Video and advertising services to Best Mobile Services for mobile enterprise, money and Internet applications, in addition to the highly sought after Green Mobile and Best Mobile Handset awards.
All winners have now been automatically short listed for the Global Mobile Awards 2010, which will be presented in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress next February.
