A report from Bloomberg suggests that Apple is working on two variations of iPhone mode, a cheaper, smaller model and a dual mode (GSM+CDMA compliant) model. Aaimed at slowing the advance of Google’s Android powered smartphones.
“Instead of targeting 25 percent of the global mobile-phone market, Apple would be going after 100 percent,” said Charlie Wolf, an analyst at Needham & Co. in New York, who has a “buy” rating on Apple shares.
Analysts reported in 2009 that Apple was working on a “World Mode” iPhone that would be smaller in size and customized for Verizon Wireless.
