Dozens of companies will be making new product announcements and launches next week at Macworld 2010, IDG World Expo, owner of Macworld 2010, announced today. Many of these products are highlighted in Macworld’s unique First Looks program, designed to make finding and test-driving the latest products easy for attendees. The First Looks program highlights the latest innovations for the Mac, iPhone, and iPod platforms, and can be seen only at Macworld 2010 from February 9-13, 2010, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Macworld 2010 will see the introduction of exciting new products such as: a tool that diagnosis your car’s potential repair problems; gloves that mimic human touch and allow you to use your iPhone in harsh weather; a shoulder/hip bag with integrated controls with an interface to operate iPods or iPhones; a paper scanner that sends documents and photos directly to popular desktop and web apps; a tactical keypad that allows iPhone users to feel key locations and increase typing speed by eliminating miss hits; and, the world’s smallest 2.5” portable USB hard drive that lets you back up your laptop on-the-go.
Highlights of this year’s First Looks participants include:
CarMD.com Corp (Booth #766): CarMD.com Corp will introduce the CarMD® Handheld Device & Mac/PC Software System, a personal diagnostic tool that provides drivers with a fast and easy-to-use analysis of their car’s health. CarMD will catch problems before they cost big bucks, double-check repair costs, monitor and reduce emissions and more. The software included with CarMD runs on a wide range of operating systems, including Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Apparent (Special Interest Pavilions): Apparent will introduce Doxie, a smart, modern paper scanner that sends documents and photos directly to popular desktop and web apps like Flickr, Google Docs, iPhoto, Picnik, Tumblr and Twitter. Doxie is portable, USB powered and features an intuitive, one-button design that makes scanning and sharing paper easy – just connect to any PC or Mac, launch the Doxie app and scan anything in seconds.
BudSock (Booth# 766 in the Digital / Multimedia SIP): BudSock will introduce the BudSock, a simple, eco-friendly design that allows you to stow away your earbuds in your pocket, your bag, or any place you’d like without them getting tangled. It is easy to use, weightless, bulkless and saves you time and hassle. The earth-friendly BudSocks contain no plastic, they are made of brass with the surface electroplated in silver and the fabric used for the BudSock is 100 percent organic cotton.
Shure Incorporated (Booth #1459): Shure will introduce the SE115m+ Sound Isolating Headset with Remote + Mic, which combines the professional audio performance and sound isolation of Shure’s SE115 Earphones with the addition of an integrated three-button remote and microphone for the iPhone 3GS and iPod. The three-button remote allows users to adjust the volume, control music and video playback, record voice memos and answer or end calls without having to remove their earphones.
SMART Technologies (Booth # 845): SMART Technologies will introduce SMART Notebook SE (Student Edition) Mac, created specifically to meet the needs of tech-savvy students by providing them with a learning tool that complements the way they think and organize. The student edition is compatible with the Mac version of SMART Notebook software, and is available on a convenient 2 GB USB silicon bracelet which makes it easy for students to access on any computer, to take notes, complete assignments and save work to a single, portable USB key.
Blue Microphones (Booth #960): Blue Microphones will be previewing the next generation of their award winning portable mic – Mikey, now compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch, with improved circuitry for superior recording at higher volumes. Mikey now features a 3.5mm line-input for direct recording of other sound sources, along with a USB pass-thru connection for simultaneous charging and syncing. With an updated mic design, Mikey is compatible with most protective cases and now features a 230-degree range of adjustability for perfect positioning. The second generation Mikey will be available Spring 2010.
Other World Computing (Booth #1354): Other World Computing will be introducing the NuPower Charge & Sync+, a portable charger, battery pack and sync solution to iPhone, iPod, cellphones, digital cameras and other digital devices. Recharge your device via a standard AC outlet or enjoy extra run time with the built-in battery.
LogicKeyboard (Booth #1849): LogicKeyboard will be introducing the After Effects keyboard; a new Apple Advance shortcut keyboard. The After Effects keyboard is part of LogicKeyboard’s complete set of post-production solutions for video editors who use Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro on the iMac platform. The new After Effects keyboard has over 150 shortcuts that can greatly enhance productivity.
NAVIGON (Booth #575): NAVIGON will introduce an updated version of MobileNavigator, an application that transforms the iPhone into a comprehensive navigation device. MobileNavigator is the only on-board iPhone navigation app to include Google Local Search, Reality View™ Pro, branded in-route POI’s, seamless in-app iPod controls, enhanced pedestrian mode, and Traffic Live in one application.
Telefingers (Booth #766 – i): Telefingers will be introducing a glove that allows you to touch, tap, stroke, slide and scroll your devices’ controls, while protecting your hands from harsh elements. Telefingers mimic human touch, have silicone beads for added control/grip and are custom fit providing accuracy and breathability. Use your phone, touch screen and mp3 while wearing Telefingers.
Urban Tool (Booth #1766): Urban Tool will be introducing iHipHolster, a stylish bag with an integrated control interface to operate iPods or iPhones. The iHipHolster has multiple slots to securely store and conveniently arrange cell phones, keys, iPods and other essentials. The cut fits perfectly to your hip and can be fastened with a removable strap at the leg. It can be worn as a hip bag or shoulder bag.
frog design (Booth #1366, Kiosk 28): frog design will introduce tvChatter, a free application for the iPhone and iPod touch that uses Twitter to make TV social. tvChatter presents real time Twitter-fueled commentary about your favorite TV shows. Watch your show on your TV or computer, launch the tvChatter app, choose the tweet stream from the social program guide and join the conversation.
4iThumbs (Booth #1488): 4iThumbs will introduce the 4iThumbs keyboard, a tactical keypad that allows iPhone users to feel the key locations and dramatically increase typing speed by eliminating miss hits. 4iThumbs is an invisible screen protector that let’s you see the full screen as well as touch type. The dimensions and weight of the iPhone remain the same, and there is no loss of application functions.
R.L.M. Software (Booth #1366, Kiosk #14): R.L.M. Software will introduce the 17BII+ Financial Calculator v2.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch OS 3.0. It is a complete and realistic simulation of the New 17BII+ Financial calculator, with all the functions and features of the real one plus powerful enhancements and scientific functions for students, engineers or business professionals. Scosche (Booth #660): Scosche will introduce the flipSYNC, a keychain charge and sync cable for the iPod and iPhone. The flipSYNC is ultra compact with a built in key-ring so you will never forget your cable again. The flipSYNC also comes in a micro/mini USB combo version for additional devices such as smart phones, digital cameras and much more.
